About Me

I’m Dan, but you’ve probably already guessed that! I’m a photographer based in the North West, Uk.

I very much stumbled into Photography in 2018 during a visit to Edinburgh’s Christmas markets. I’d recently got a new phone, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, which at the time had a vast array of camera functionality. During the visit, I started photographing the wonderful landscapes, attractions, and architecture that Edinburgh has to offer. This led me into my first foray with image editing, beyond Instagram filters!, using Snapseed. We’d go back to the apartment we were in at night and I’d spend hours editing, painting selections with my index finger until I created something I was happy with.

On 29th Dec 2018, I ordered my first ever camera (slight lie, I had a bridge camera in the early 2000s which I had no clue how to use), along with everything I’d need to be a landscape photographer (tripod, bag, memory cards). That’s when it all began.

From here my camera came everywhere with me, with Liverpool being the first place I started taking images. As I gradually started to learn more and get more confident, I started to upgrade some of my lenses adding wide-angle & faster apertures to my kit.

Then on the 23rd June 2019, I made another leap and upgraded all my equipment to what I use today (Sony A7iii). It was a massive upgrade and as much an expense but I knew I’d found a passion for this hobby. I haven’t looked back since.

Looking back through my images, while planning this blog, helped me realised the journey I’ve been on developing my skills over the last two years. I’m sure I have plenty more to learn and develop but that’s all part of the fun! Photography’s also helped me to get more active, visit places I’d have never thought about before, and see some absolutely magnificent sunsets!

So enough about me, I want to thank you for dropping by my site and I hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I’ve enjoyed creating them 🙂
